Is StudioArk free?

Yes, all of it. Designing, previewing and exporting print-ready 3MF and STL files costs nothing — no watermark, no export cap, no locked features and no paid tier. The account is free too; it exists to hold your saved covers, not to sell you anything.

Question 2

Do I need an account to use StudioArk?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a free one, with an email address and a password. It takes a moment and it buys you saved designs with thumbnails, on any machine you sign in from. Your designs are still yours to move: every cover compresses into its own URL, so copying the link is how you share one or keep a variant aside.

Question 3

Will the cover actually fit my device?

Accepted Answer

The cover is generated parametrically from your device's real dimensions — width, depth, corner radius and the height of the tallest control — with clearances you set yourself, so the fit is yours to the millimetre. It still depends on your measurements and your printer's tolerances, which is what the test print is for: a 25mm slice through the cover that carries the seat, the clearance and the skirt, and prints in about twenty minutes. Check it on the real device before committing to the full print.

Which devices does StudioArk work for?

Accepted Answer

Anything with a broadly flat top panel: CDJs and media players, DJ mixers and controllers, grooveboxes and drum machines, desktop synths and turntables. Twenty-two devices are measured and built in, and anything else takes four measurements. Gear with a sloped, curved or heavily stepped top is a poor fit, because the cover is a drape over the panel with optional raised zones rather than a contoured skin.

Which 3D printers does StudioArk support?

Accepted Answer

Any printer that accepts 3MF or STL files. Covers wider than your bed are split automatically into parts that rejoin with printed clips or a lap seam, then packed onto plates. Bed presets are included for Bambu Lab A1 / P1S / X1C and H2D, Prusa MK4 and XL, Creality Ender 3 and K1 Max, and Voron 2.4 350, and any custom bed size works.

What material should I print a dust cover in?

PETG is the sweet spot: rigid, slightly flexible at the clip joints, and sold in transparent and smoked-translucent colours that read a little like cast acrylic. Transparent PLA also works for covers kept away from heat. Expect a full-size cover to be a long print measured in hours, which is another reason to run the test print first.

How is a printed cover different from a moulded one I can buy?

A bought cover is injection-moulded for one specific model and arrives optically clear, which a printed cover will not be — layer lines stay visible even in transparent filament. StudioArk is for the cases that leaves out: gear nobody makes a cover for, discontinued models, or a cover with your own logo on it. StudioArk is independent and not affiliated with any cover manufacturer.

Question 8

Does StudioArk upload my designs anywhere?

Not while you design. Geometry is generated in your browser by WebAssembly and the export file is written locally, so nothing leaves your machine as you work. Saving a cover to your account is the exception: it stores the design, and saved covers are public by default until you make them private. A current desktop browser with WebGL and WebAssembly is required; the editor is not built for phones.
